Vibration during transportation can upset the cleaver calibration and also cause
damage. This can be prevented by immobilizing the stage and diamond carriage as
shown.
- Insert a .25 X .50 X 1.125” foam piece in the slot and butt
it against the diamond carriage. Assure that the foam does not contact
the diamond.
- Apply tape over the end of the foam and over the slot
on two sides of the stage as shown. Do not reuse tape. Masking tape is suitable.
- Gently try to push the carriage forward. It should be solidly blocked and not move.
Also try moving the stage to the left and to the right. It should not move.
